A Union Reflects the Unanimity and Singularity of the Apostolic and Patristic Church

embracing a multiplicity of Protestant and catholic expressions of worship and practice. In contrast to a denomination, a union expresses the organic unity Jesus Christ originally established in His Body, the Church. Rather than emerging from divisions created by historic differences over doctrine and practice, a communion represents a return to unity based on the recovery of the essential oneness of the ancient, medieval, and contemporary church.

Purpose and Mission

The purpose of the Union of Charismatic Orthodox Churches is to provide an ecclesiastical authority structure for facilitating new fellowships, local congregations and clergy that are being brought into full affiliation with the Union through a missionary and contextual dynamic that enables said fellowships, local congregations and clergy to affiliate and receive episcopal incardination in the UCOC while maintaining relational and ecclesiastical connection with their Bishop.

We identify and see ourselves as Christian Charismatic believers and followers of Jesus Christ committed to the Great Tradition of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church of our Lord. We draw from the rich and diverse well-springs of the ecumenical consensus of the Church of Jesus Christ from its earliest inceptions to its Patristic heritage and developments – East and West – and on through its historic journey of renewal, reform and recovery to its contemporary witness, mission and life in the 21st century.
